About Sown and Sent
Our Story
In 2015, we bought a farm in Weatherford, TX and began learning to work the land and raise animals. We felt a call to produce and send good things out into the world. We just didn’t know what that would look like yet. Then tragedy struck our family in 2018 when our son was diagnosed with cancer. It was a long journey to healing and a trying time for our family, but God strengthened us through His love and faithfulness. The Word of God literally became our daily bread as we walked through the darkest days. I began taping notecards with hand-scribbled verses to bathroom mirrors and the refrigerator as reminders of His goodness. We learned to cling to His Word, and He saw us through!
Our Mission
In 2022, we finally felt it was time to launch this brand that God had planted in my heart years earlier. Sown and Sent was born from Isaiah 55:10-11: “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” My heart’s desire is for believers everywhere to treasure God’s Word, to surround themselves with the beauty of it, and be inspired everyday by it. In Deuteronomy 11:18-21, God says, “So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors.”
